She's thinking about the needs of the many over the needs of the one. Thanks to the asshole former leader the credibility of the Silver Wing troop is shit. In order to prevent the 50-100 people under her command from going jobless/foodless/homeless she needs the backing of a high-ranking noble to rebuild their credibility.

The bitch-minister is the only one that even gave them a chance, so of course she has to follow orders otherwise she might as well disband the Silver Wing troop. It's not like the bitch directly ordered her to attack Denis, it was just a series of unfortunate events that got them in that position. Even the bitch was surprised, that's why she praised her dumbass kid for giving her an opening to get rid of Denis.
Even assuming that, in any realistic situation this would be the end of any possible friendship. As I said, the "it's not personal" thing goes both way. You make your choices, then you face the consequences of those choices.
This is not going to happen here as this manga is super childish and I'm 100% sure we'll have a "and they lived happily ever after" resolution of this arc. And really, it's been like this for all arcs.

I lament the fact that my curiosity to see what happens afterwards often forces me to keep reading mangas. It's like... a desire to be able to say: oh hey, I was right, this fucking sucks.
And this manga had potential.... which makes it worse.

Exactly, slowly started to loathe this story but the potential it had makes me stick around.

Man, as someone who just binge read this all tonight, I really thought that the higher than average rating of this story would imply some substance.

It wasn't a bad read, but this chapter really was frustrating. "Don't take it personally" my ass.

Did she not just see him, a close personal friend, get tortured? What about the clear threats to another person's life?

This also come after she got "cold feet" during the last fight where his life was at risk just a few chapters ago.

Am I not remembering something correctly or arent level 100 skills meant to be super powerful, enough so to remove them from his "Restaurant"

Without me reading it all again, do random Nobles have the ability to order the Kingdoms guards to arrest people and then let the same Noble into the cell to torture him?

A lot of good points about this arc, so all I'll just say:

The issue I always had with high-tier fantasy like these, is that -- you cannot really have the evil-noble as a functioning villain, when commoners can easily be walking nukes. You simply cannot. It's impossible.

While, sure, level 100s are incredibly rare, when any random shmuck on the street might be overwhelmingly powerful and kill you on the spot, because you truly leave them no option? Society as a whole would cease to function. There'd be a new landlord every 2 weeks.

Sometimes I wonder why you people keep reading manga when you clearly hate it this much...

Well, that's easy.
People don't hate this manga, per-se; They hate the current villain. All of the complaints are about how badly written she is.

That Katie is retarded then. Fucking trash bitch. Who in their right mind would look for backing with a hag that has no good reputation?
