Losing half your levels on death is surprisingly brutal, not quite iron man but painful nonetheless. (Unless it is extremely easy to level, which is doubtful)

Death 'only' drops half the experience gained. MC loses half his total level. I'm honestly wondering if this author has ever played a game that involves leveling.

Losing half your xp in runescape would take you from level 99 to level 92.
Either the Author have never played a RPG before or his world have linear levels with no incrementing XP requirements.
Having said that, the pacing of this comic is jarring; MC kinda summarizes whatever he does and immediately loses everything he summarized due to reasons, losing whatever permanence or bearing the reader have gotten on the story.

for one, do monsters job change in the city? a dungeon, maybe after a mission from the area boss seems more realistic. and for two, do monsters even get job changes?
also @BlackMonday @GurenNoOu xp systems in games vary widely, I've seen more than a few games where you have a given xp requirement no matter what your current level is but you gain far less xp per kill as your level increases compared to the mob you killed...admittedly I don't remember any MMO's that used that system, but since it has been used in RPGs plenty of times I'm giving that dev choice a pass for now

so the real world still plays a part in this and there are still players, in other words MC wasn't transported to a fantasy world he was turned into a computer program. trapped forever in an MMO that will get less and less popular until it finally shuts down in a few years... whatever god put him up to this is a dick.
