see I KNEW IT it has to do with gypsies being witcher and warlocks xD.
@missy115 but she is one of the best crybabies MC. Let me show you what you didn't appreciate and confuse it with the usual damsel in distress. Erin is a MC that was abused and never knew loved yes, but the one thing that grab my attention was in the second/third chapter when she mentioned her origin. Her mother's a gypsy and was forced into a marriage with a nobleman that kidnap her. Now, if the mother is so powerful, why didn't she stop it? It has to do with history! you have to broad your mind and think about our history and blend it into this world history. Women are used as tools. You rarely see a strong and independent one. Her mother looks to be independent and decently strong woman but still follow society rules. Now, society would have found any law to blame her for trying to seduce the nobleman and now blaming him with a rape that was actually her doing. [ironic, right? but that is the behind the chapters- when we don't see the character's roleplaying] she accepted that she would be blamed no matter what she would go and instead of making her child's life miserable cuz her offspring was female, they will say she will become a slut like her mother....
Now, in a few panels we saw how Erin was always discriminated by the nobleman family and by society. She couldn't interact with people of her same status because then she would have embarrass her family's prestige. She couldn't make friends with anyone in the middle or upper class because to them she was a peasant. How would you expect a person with such a low self esteem to behave? O_O and a victim of domestic abuse.
Now, we will say but she MARRIED LEX? and got a happy life. In 2 panels she mentioned that the moment he turned around she was forgotten LOL. see? even if she was loved by this duke's personality, she wasn't entirely happy because Lex was just a friction of her imagination. Would only manifest when she needed and little by little Lex was disappearing.
The magic appears to be a mix of the duke's cold trait and his affectionate trait [the one he decided to forget after his parents died]. I would say the duke is going to be more like a sexy foxy guy now when flirting instead of the smooth and warm sexy charming husband. I need to see what will happen in the next chapter to confirm it. I hope I am right on that.
