At first I didn't get why people hated the drama since everything about this series looks like a setup for drama, but then I realized there's no drama tag.

No, she isn't realistic and serve me the "But she is a teeanger" when the other characters are literally the same age and don't act like her at all.

While that's fantastic, in my opinion it's pretty unrealistic compared to Shiho's behavior, which despite being a bit extreme at times, feels more like a real teenage character.

I think people need to understand that, whether we like it or not (I certainly do), Shiho is the most important character in the story. And it's not even close.

Shiho was made the most important character because apparently fluff content is not on the author alley and rather piling up drama on drama with a character that wasn't even the main focus nor in the main premise for the first arc. So no, she isn't the most important character of the STORY she is the most important one of this ARC. Because like it or not but she isn't suposs to be the main character.

I actually have nothing but respect for Shiho haters. Following this manga every month, and not dropping it, even though the character you hate has all but taken over the story for the last two years... That's dedication 🫡 Need this energy in my life tbh

Ah sorry, i need to turn on my 3rd eye to know before what the chapters will be about . mb. Seriously, how would i know how it's going if i don't read it ? That's just a stupid argument "just don't read lol". Sorry that i want to know what happen and at least that give me legitimaty cause i see what happen.

This is not an "Arc". Shiho was introduced back in Chapter 15 (or even before if we take into consideration the extras from Volume 2), and we are currently in Chapter 40.

Shiho is the main plot device driving the manga forward. Everything and everyone in the story is connected to her, in one way or another.
If you think about it, even the fact that Himari was able to see Yori performing in the first chapter of the series was due to Shiho leaving the band. In other word, her parting was what made it possible for the story to unfold the way it did.

This is primarily Shiho's story.

I start to believe that most people hating on Shiho just did not like her at first and then read various messages and jumped on the hatewagon. And that hate just festered between each chapter, unreasonably. How about re-reading the manga again? I have read it 3 times by now and while i dislike much drama in modern yuri, Shiho is far from being the monster people make her out to be.

Guys, I started to like Shiho and the new arc and drama.
At first I was indifferent, just fluff and padding before we can see some juicy Hima x Yori, I didn't mind too much, there needs to be some drama otherwise the story will be too bland. But yeah, I felt like some new characters started to steal my wholesome yuri time and was thinking it a demerit to the story, rather than focusing the drama on our main characters.

But now, with another long wait between my last read and latest 2 chapters, I came around, I have a taste for spicy drama, and its yuri as well so thats nice, it might not be as good as our first wholesome ship, but after thinking about it as a second yuri romance story in this manga, I came to like it. Sure so far its been mostly pain and bitterness, and I dont like other characters being mean to my wholesome yuri girls, but this is yet another flavour of romance and relationships, and as an eternal optimist, who sees the light even in the darkest of places, having read Euphoria VN true ending and all that, the prospect of two very alienated girls getting together despite the drama and suffering is incredibly apeasing. Sure I will be quite dissapointed if the ship crashes and burns, or they merely somewhat reconcile and move on (likely outcome), but the tiniest possibility of romance being rekindled and ressurected from all that..., now thats patrician treat only the most cultured men of culture, namely me,could aquire a taste for. Call me a madman, but having perceived a slightest possibility of an original kind of romance I have not yet seen pan out well in anime and manga, I have chosen my battleground (estranged exes couples getting back together is kinda hot in anime fiction). Dont get me wrong, toxic relationships are not cool (other than in fiction for entertainment), but since redemption is possible, I'd like to keep all my doors open.

Now I realize that possibility is very slim, but since there is also my wholesome yuri ship, Im never getting off anyway, it would be just an interesting bonus, if executed well of course, but so far, I think the foundation is definitely there, author set Shiho and others up as unmistakably main characters, and so far showed a taste for blissfull fluffy romance and good vibes, so seeing things end badly just doesnt feel right, and this would be the best kind of good ending in my book.

Yes, Im the biggest copium enjoyer there is.

Shiho admitted that she still is in love with her. Now everything is in Aki's hands, because I'm pretty sure that Shiho won't contact her again otherwise.

First of all, Aki needs to move on from her unrequitted love: I believe she will follow Shiho's example and tell Yori the truth about her feelings.

I was not talking about you specifically, and I was not telling anyone to stop reading. I admit I was trying to be funny, but I really do find the dedication impressive, because I can't keep reading something if I don't enjoy it.

You might want to read my comment again: "not dropping it, even though the character you hate has all but taken over the story for the last two years..." This was a Generic You, and I was referring to people who have been consistently coming back to this manga with every new chapter for two years, despite finding Shiho unpleasant.

I said two years, because her arc has been in the focus for about two years now. The competition between the bands started in chapter 22, which was uploaded two years ago. (And we're at chapter 40 now, so the band competition arc spans about 45% of the story so far.)

Except she isn't realistic. People should really stop saying "this character is realistic" when they don't understand what it mean. No, she isn't realistic and serve me the "But she is a teeanger" when the other characters are literally the same age and don't act like her at all.

You're not helping your argument with that buddy. You just sound butthurt that people don't like the character you like.
Are you seriously so ignorant that you can’t recognize that not everybody, even the same age, act the same?

God some of yall need to understand that not every body acts the same way. I get why some people don’t like Shino, and that’s perfectly fine, but that’s no excuse to say she should die.

Just say u dont understand her character and leave?? She's not annoying, Shiho is literally the most realisticly written character in the whole series💀
💀
She honestly is, people commonly have a negative reaction when rejected, and that’s normal. Her leaving was a heat of the moment thing, and now she finds it to find hard to go back. She builds up a shell, which I can relate to. And that’s why I like her.

I assure you, that tag was not there when I checked. Even went to Wayback Machine & it's not there. (The last capture is from Sep 2022 though.)
Probably because it’s been focusing more and more on drama, so they finally decided to add it.

Why the fuck would think you're the one at fault here ? Just because you didn't realize she loved you ? Then, AKi should be angry at Yori to not realize she has one sided crush on h.... OH WAIT SHE ISN'T.
And now the whole bet is worthless because this discussion was the whole point of this battle arc. So we drag on this arc with an insufferable character just to get the main premise getting dropped before the actual suposs climax.
Can we get at least Yori's song winning so at least we get some wholesome moment.
And god forbid that the anime list her in the characters so we got to see her in the anime too.

because that’s how humans work.

She's not amonster but she is an asshole, even ignoring the whole Aki thing, Kyou wanted to be her friend, but Shiho rejected her because judges liked her more? And now she's making up by singing for her corpse?
