fucking hell, that was a brutal chapter. does anyone have a family tree so we can see all the relationships so far? I'm getting confused about who's who with the second and third generations.

however I have to say that the historical inaccuracies with the firearms really bothered me. both the British and the Japanese fought with bolt action weapons, whereas in the action scenes here they seem to be able to fire many times at once. not a huge issue but Toyokichi probably only would have been shot once instead of three times and likely not die.

Man this is such a fluff is what I thought way back in chapter 1 hahaha but now ot plays with my feelings every chapter, yet it’s a damn good manga

usually when I see the word "tradegy" o won't read the story but now that I have been reading this for the longest time I always end up an emotional wreck...

I appreciate this manga for showing that both sides of war suffer. They're not monsters, they're just desperate. Everyone has something to protect.

Ahem, that can be in contention when you factor the amount of hatred going around in that time period. No one is absolved of blame nor should be excused doesn't mean it is incomprehensible.

Lmao nice genre:fantasy. The Japanese army weren’t thinking about protecting their families. That wasn’t even part of the propaganda. Those dudes who surrendered as late as the 70s sure as hell weren’t thinking about their family.
