I would decline. If my reason was to find a way back home, then obviosly I would not want to be tied down to some barren land as a noble, serving an incompetent queen/leader, but I guess he had no choice, since he would be wanted as a "criminal" for declining. They’ve all proven themselves to be duplicitous cowards, so why are you making up doomsday scenarios where Ryoma is the one that will turn on you when he’s the only reason you and your idiot knights still have your heads? Wouldn’t keeping him close be the best solution?
