The digital tokens you have to use to buy the chapters are only good for a short period of time? That's some peak bullshit right there.

As to the chapter, going to be interesting to see what Mom has for her reasons.

Oh shit, mommy DID eat daddy didn't she? And she is worried her daughter may do the same to her own partner.
I definitely feel like it's something like this. Everyone's jumping onto the domineering parent stereotype, but in this case, said parent is an actual supernatural monster, and can exercise literal superpowers on mere mortals. When she says that the powers can grow out of control, she likely speaks from experience.

while true, the fact the mother lied to her, and acted in a way that completely destroyed her confidence on herself and her capabilities, even for stuff outside the supernatural, remain. She may have had good intentions, but good intention doesn't prevent abuse (even by neglect). And in this case, the mother execution for these intention seems lacking.
The road to hell is paved by good intentions is a proverb for a reason

I don't think it's that simple, just like anything in this series. It's also tied to the theory that her mom had a power overflow, which killed her dad, which could be totally wrong in the end!

Her confidence is tied to her powers. If her confidence balloons, her powers expand, she loses control, and people around her die. It's a classic conundrum that many stories have tried to answer - is it okay to abuse one person if it keeps the rest of society safe? And if it's not, can you stomach having the blood of everyone else you know on your hands to ensure the happiness of one person?

The only thing that could have been done differently is Jedi-style training to manage one's emotions, but that also takes away the ability to have a normal life. Mom is likely torn between an impossible choice of giving her daughter a normal life via "abuse" or teaching her to manage her monstrous powers and destroying her humanity, making her just like her mother.

With how heavy-handed this is, We’re definitely going to see a flip on “all these things I did to control you WERE for your own good, because {Yokai powers etc}” and she really does care

Or maybe not, and she’s just an ass

I just hope we get to see her grow big and step on the MC. Maybe for a couple pages or something. In different outfits perhaps. Typical mother-in-law stuff, y’know?

What is all that on the table in page 14? Lily-branded condoms?
Looks like strawberry(?) crepes on the packet to me. As for what's inside, I just figured incense since that's what was mentioned just before, but incense packs are usually longer than that.

definitely possible. She’s definitely worried in that annoying overbearing parent sense, where she’s really bad at communicating how she feels without being the bluntest jackass possible. The “you should stay home and forget about it” is pretty telling.

Makes sense since she’s not human, though I know of too many people whose parents act like that.
