I really want to believe this is what happened but I feel like if someone wanted to talk, they would just invite you to their house, not pull up to your place of business with 40+ armed guards and a look in their eye that screams “How dare you exist?”

You can't tell me the MC did NOT check his status first thing he got in his room, back at the city! That's a load of crock and shit. The whole reason they went off to hunt that lizard was specifically to "break the ceiling", and they didn't even verify it in the church or something? FFS.
