Was thinking the same. Even if Paul went after Yajin, he still lost the challenge fair and square, witnessed by the entire guild and Guildmaster. Pretty sure the boss is going to have something to say about that.
I imagine it had to done with either daggers or other hand held weapons, cause the deer uses wind magic to protect itself, so arrows will never reach it.
He probably didn't need the meat, so he only took the pelts and antlers and left the rest for the animals to clean up.

He will karate even at the brink of death. He will use karate ( with dagger ) until he becomes food for the dogs or killed by execution. Heck, he might even give a karate punch to the one who sent him!

That's just straight up transliterated from the original. In my first draft I used growling/bellowing sounds more like a real deer - but then I figured, what kind of sound does a wind-magic using deer really make anyway? So I went back to the original.
