Still using dad instead of tou-chan I see. His name is Touru, stop being retarded. It makes the joke about everyone thinking that Muu is calling him dad make no sense if you just have her call him dad.
maybe it's a problem of translation being too literal? (I dunno)
Is the way japanese address an older male person (that isn't a brother) similar to the way someone would say da?
(no that I make my brain upping its gear, isn't "dad" in japanese "tou-san" or something?)

The dad part is actually the tou part the san, chan etc are the horrifics, like how brother can be onii chan, onii san or onii-sama

The whole joke is that she simplified his name into "dad" sounding word. Dunno if it was in the translation posted here, but TN explained it that very chapter she started doing it.

Bro called homie retarded because he is using the word that the pun is implying that she is saying.
We are reading this in english, the pun don't translate directly we must adapt it, which makes more sense?

Mu: Hey too-chan!
Person: Whoa, he is your dad?
Them: She is joking! It's just the way she calls him!
???

or

Mu: Hey dad!
Person: Whoa, he is your dad?
Them: She is joking! It's just the way she calls him!

Grow up and learn to talk with people.
