Family time is sweet and all. But they really could've have her train for 5 yesrs and just continuously de-age themselves so they could pick right up from where they started. Maybe live in the area for 4 or 5 years (however long basic education is around there), it is quite literally nothing to them apart from what Mu wants

If you consider Mu's personality, I doubt she would want to leave her family and become a part of a facility. It's difficult to imagine she would enjoy sitting through lectures and classes, participate in formal, standardised training, and other such things. She would also need to get along with all sorts of people, many of whom would no doubt look down on her, due to her lack of refined manners and her pretty wild nature. The head of temple doesn't know pretty much anything about Mu. If he did, he might have hesitated more to make such an offer. Now all he saw was her talent and potential.

unfortunately those potentials and talents are enough as manners and personality can be teach or tempered with time. i kinda get what the old man is saying as he saw the potentials in Muu and for the sake of it, wishes to Muu to be nurtured in a safe and controlled environment instead of exposed to constant danger while adventuring. the old man even offer compensation in form of skill/experience manpower too. but ultimately the decision falls on the party/family and i respect that they wish to remain together. besides, he has aides as he is a sort of head of the thunder god temple (i think) that can properly teach/discipline Muu if need be, lol. and yea, tou has cheat powers against time/aging so he can de-age the party once Muu graduated like other has said earlier.

Leaving kids alone with religious institutions is always a bad idea.

Even some child-parent mangas wouldn’t span 2 chapters long on the topic. Not that I complain, it’s refreshing for fantasy mangas.

It's easy to say that from the outside, but with the way their Adventure Guild ranks are structured, you'd have to worry about having to start over at the starter town, or being investigated thoroughly, when their ages don't match the records on file. You would no longer have the freedom to explore the next area.

Was this the one with a lengthy explanation of the guild system? I might've glazed over that when going through the chapters, thanks for the info!

I have a feeling that leaving Mu for education would only hurt her emotionally as she is at a very vulnerable age. You are already unsure of how any group would treat her. If she was not as successful or speedy at her training, would they admonish or abuse her? Would they abuse her regardless? Touru can guide her training well with his powers. Besides real world experience is better, especially with those you care for.

I'm confused at what and why Yuril was doing at the statue with Sora.

This is the one where many people just quit being adventurers a lot of the time, because power harassment at the previous town, prevents them from advancing passed that red river.

I know there's all sorts of reasons for not doing it but I still feel like the manga missed the chance to make the party closer in age and have a school/training arc. Their party works well, it just still feels kinda half-baked and some formal training probably would've helped.

I agree for how mu would probably take it personally should they leave her anywhere. Had the institution have an educator or the story have an arc of introducing an educator who would understand and connect with her the same way the rest of the gang does, I could see her being left behind as a more feasible arc. Or if anyone among the cast had another reason to become an educator or be educated as well.

I think sora has a thing for chiseled men (or maybe large stone men and not muscle butt pretty boys) and yuril was misguided in thinking her enthusiasm was from learning about the mega statues for their historical and religious merit.
