But even then, it's stupid. The problem is that he's a random stranger intervening for no reason... it's forced and stupid.

It's offending the girl as well. They are obviously friends and there is no reason to actually get in the way.

Like, the logic would work if it was someone the old dude knew or something... but she actually has the option of quitting as an adventurer... it's making an enemy for no reason and it has very little logic.

Like, I get not valuing him and maybe even telling her she's better off not being with him...

It was forced conflict by the author (like how authors do those forced stakes where the girls usually take really stupid bets for no reason because they "believe in the MC").

It's sloppy writing, trying to add unneeded conflict...

They could have had them look down on him and earn the respect without this forced "we'd be separated" drama
Sadly this does happen more often than not IRL. It is forced but it happens when someone wants their way and doesn't care about what the other party wants. The issue is that a lawyer never showed up as a goblin holding a briefcase.

This feels super stupid when you realize that they are just 2 people who know each other and he wants to split them apart for no real reason. It's forced drama for the sake of it...
FMC got rare skill. Obviously the Guild admins would be noticed. Seeing an eternal g-rank veteran guiding newbie FMC will arouses suspicion of MC using her for his own gains.

Yes, but in the end, if they knew each other for a while then it's already answered....

See the issue??? In the end, if they are from the same hometown, then it's enough....

Doesn't matter. What matters from guild's perspective are:
1) MC's eternal G-rank (25yrs).
2) Formed a party with newb adventurer with rare skill.
3) MC's productivity suddenly increased greatly.
4) Hailed from the same hometown makes it's easier to get trick.
5) Vice GM want her due to rare skill tree.

With this, the guild simply decide to take away FMC from MC. Remember, need to observe from guild perspective. we readers know something the guild doesn't.

Still, even then, the guild should have some case of minding their own business....

Even from there perspective, it shouldn't interfere with the adventurers own choices.

That's a sucky adventurers' guild branch. Touru and Sora should switch towns to somewhere more reasonable. Adventurers are basically freelancers, accepting quests at their own discretion and risk, only to be rewarded if they clear the quest. If they fail, they go hungry if they are still even alive. Yet that vice director actually uses his power and influence to send his goons to harass adventurers to force them to disband their groups. Simply because he believes he knows better who should work with who. Even though he doesn't actually know shit, let alone know the people he's pretending to care about. There's no future for an organisation like that. It's wise to leave a sinking ship before it actually is below the waves.
