Only thing the school really has to offer Muu is socializing. Yes they could offer a more structured space to learn in, but Muu wouldn't really learn much and be a major distraction for the other kids. Better to be tutored by granny elf, and the rest of the party.

That wasn't the case initially, but it sure feels that way now, for a while in fact. The translation does feel a bit iffy, so that adds to the uncanniness.
