Even th
I think it would have been good is Kase lost. then told her roommate, "Of course I am still moving out. We aren't children and you can't change your life like that because of a bet.
Even that would've been hackneyed after the initial move to the first apartment Yamada found was cancelled. Simply should've never taken the bet to begin with. But alas, unfortunately we got this instead.

Yay, she won and didn't then have to surrender all free will to her roommate. Thank goodness this arc didn't end with a pro yandere enslavement message... Also thank goodness its over and hopefully we can get back the couple being cute together.

It is amazing that as much as we all hate this stupid arc and think that Kase is the worst girlfriend ever, we still read it. I hope this event makes Yamada more forceful and starts laying down some boundaries. If they are living next door to Yamada's friend, I hope she doesn't say stuff like we can't be too intimate because she is next door. In fact I would like her to complain a little about the noise. I remember apartments. My neighbors use to overpower the insulation.
Only reason I still read it was because I hoped Kase would get hit in the face with karma, but ofcourse author doesnt have the balls to do that or rather doesnt even have the balls to slap her on the wrist with karma…

I really don't think y'all read the same arc I did. I understand the problem with pacing issues and the amount of waiting for each chapter, but the whole point of the arc was to show Kase's friend has developed feelings for her, and race was more about her wanting to have Kase as her girlfriend. I don't even think we are done yet, the fact Kase's friend doesn't know about Yamada probably means we are leaving the arc with her finding out rather than it simply ending as such. In other words, we are probably getting a love triangle akin to Hi-Score Girl (i.e. no hope). If not that, probably have Kase's friend admit that she like likes her.

Either way, I can agree that Kase hasn't been a good girlfriend, but she is also thinking about her career and her friends well being, so the intention is at least better than most.

I actually was expecting Kase to lose, the deal she made with her roommate was that if she lost she would be totally honest about her reasons for moving in with Yamada. Which would have been the perfect way to have her "lose the battle but win the war" If Kase had to be honest about her relationship to her, she would have to come to terms with the fact that Kase is definitely taken and hopefully give up on her. She could also look back and realize that all her past interactions with Yamada were with Kase's girlfriend and all the pieces would have snapped into place. We may still get something like that though. I think the author chickened out at the last minute here.

I genuinely wonder what would have happened if Kase had lost the race. Like would she have actually turned round to Yamada and said "I know you've been searching for ages and have already signed a contract but I lost a race so I have to stay in the dorms" or would she have told Fukami about her relationship and then have her say "Oh in that case you should be with Yamada". Also now what happens with Fukami? seeing as Kase won the race she has no obligation to tell her, especially as she 'has never broken a promise before'

Oh well I'm just hoping we don't have to deal with too much of the track team members and their constant swooning anymore, maybe have whats her name self proclaimed rival move in with Fukami instead and get a spin off around their daily life

I really wonder how her Japanese fans reacted to this.
Im also super curious about how this arc was actually received in Japan. Did they hate this as much as we did and did they bitch as much about it in forums the author would actually see?

God I'm also wondering what the response to this arc was somewhere the author would actually see.
All that's left to hope is that it might act as a catylst for Kase's growth, but that remains to be seen.
Unless there's some point to it, the arc is some of the worst character assassination I've seen in a romantic manga. Much like the bet itself, it being over does not undo the damage it's already done.

Previous chapter I left this manga accumulate chapters since this arc is just dumb and this arc was one chapter away from being over... :notlikethis:

What bothered me the most about this arc is that Inoue-senpai knew that Kase and Yamada are dating since highschool and used her senpai status to force the race, when she should've used her senpai status to tell off her kouhais who tried to stop Kase from leaving. Maybe the author kind of forgot? But Inoue literally used this knowledge to get Kase to work at the beach shack (earn money to buy a birthday present for your girlfriend was literally how she recruited Kase for that) in one of the previous arcs.

Anyways, I think people in the comments were a bit overreacting to the drama - but maybe I just have a higher tolerance for that because I also read toxic yuri, but it was certainly pretty mid writing and really dumb.

But to call Kase the worst girlfriend in yuri history when there's yuri series with actual cheating? :pacman:
