The panels for this chapter don't really flow very well. Everything happens out of frame.
The shadow looks like it was alive and attacked him again but he's fine and sitting up even though he's bleeding out. Then she needs a full pep talk before casting another spell which we don't see the effects of. Presumably the shadow is defeated.
It just seems like the artist is talented enough to draw characters, but not actions or their results.
I'm really glad I'm not the only one. This is the most confusing chapter of a manga I've ever read. Like genuinely wtf happened this chapter

It would have been better if Arcs was injured by the monster and what changed was Eleonore actually being there right next to him unleashing her powers nuking the monster and somehow healing Arcs with her dark magic stuff like Yumiella Dolkness.
The sequences of this chapter are so poorly explained, I genuinely thought this was what happened. Only after reading through the other comments did I realize that other readers are saying Arcs cast the offscreen nuke.

What’s up with the panels of the fight ? It seem rushed, clunky, not fit in together well. Is author alright ?

Thank god that getting slashed healed him just enough for him to be able to get up, talk normally, make a little speech and cast his incredible ultimate magic that does... something. All while the shadowy-thing waited 13 pages doing nothing because it used all its action points, and thus had to end its turn and wait MC to deus ex machina his way into the next chapter.
Literally took the words out my mouth. This seemed like a sweet manga, nothing special ofc, but this chapter's a dumpster fire...

Didn't you know? Talking is a free action, no matter the length

Most of us would be stunned for a few pages if we slashed someone who could barely move and then he started doing his motivational flirt or whatever it was right after it.

People die when they get killed.
Whenever someone references that, I feel it necessary to point out that, as dumb as it sounds, the guy who said it Literally Did Not Die When He Was Killed. Like. It's a rather important part of his backstory.

I'm guessing it was an adrenaline rush at the end. I thought MC couldn't move or speak, but suddenly he does the opposite.

A bit confusing. Also, it was funny that the enemy let him speak after that slash, I'm sure the MC didn't counterattack in order to get him to back away.

This was incredible contrived. MC made stupid decision he probably would not have done had his brain worked as normal. We get this random ass enemy we know absolutely about, which only serves as a plot device according to what the author wants and not what makes sense. MC suddenly forgets any and all magic except a few select spells, healing magic would have been useful.

You'll have to excuse the shadow, the concept of 'double tap' wasn't invented until 1836 with the mass production of a revolver.

I don't get it. Did the Villianess accidentally released a spell that just murdered everyone else besides the Shadow Monster and Arcs?

And then they decide to talk about it when they're already in the heat of the battle. Thank God for plot armour, but not discussing these life-altering events when you could've is not the wisest decision.

hmm… so we got a timeskip, huh. it’s a bit different from the light novel :pepehmm: welp, the monster’s finally defeated, and now we’re just waiting for the academy arc. and yeah, this is what made Eleonor fall even harder for Arcus, turning even more yandere toward him

Can you share what happened in the light novel?
