It feels like an afterthought rather than some organic development.

Hmm, like that's fair and also I really like that graduation is the external force causing Chita to face growing up b/c I think that's fairly common. So like maybe the author could have started the "facing the future" arcs with Chi, but either way the author had to build up all the flaws she's gotta now work through. (And going back, Chi really isn't in that many chapters).

Which isn't great of her, but I think the story the author is trying to tell with her is that she legit just doesn't know what she's feeling or how to process them. I think the author is going in the direction where she's on the aro/ace-demi spectrum (with some fear of growing up thrown in) and Tokio is her person. Which soulmate-sexual is basically a sexuality as far as some Japanese/Korean romances are concerned.

She's been doing jack shit to process it for what, a couple dozen chapters now? I'd have a lot more patience for these chapters if something was happening in them.

Comments on Chita chapters continue to be brain dead. Actually get some interesting insight into Chita being insecure and the only thing these motha fuckers can do is the exact same copy paste comment over and over.

We got """insight""" into her being insecure in chapter 216. This is chapter 230. Is the story taking you seven months to process?

Like, there should be a reasonable way to develop a character throughout the whole manga instead of just doing nothing with them for 200 chapters and then deciding that it's finally time.

I think it'd be fine if there was some actual development in her chapters. As it is, we're fed chapter upon chapter of the same old stale.
To be fair, Anna/Seto is largely guilty of the same, only starting to move somewhere in the recent chapters.

Frankly, Osaka losing interest in Chita and chasing someone else - very successfully, perhaps - would add some long-due dynamism to the story.
