You can make it at least 6 then. Just because some are vocal doesn't mean every hater are vocal. She is not a shounen protagonist, overeating is not a personality. Additionally there is no direct relation between her appetite and lack of romantic love towards Tokio. You can't say "I was focused on eating too much and neglected general development as a human". Everyone eats.. but I am glad at least someone loves her I guess other than Tokio and the gang.

Yes I also agree that author loves her, which makes the question "does Japanese people also hate/love Chii too" makes even more valid because there is a distinct separation between the other 2 couples and her. Since they clash, we question and want to understand because we want to love this manga. I believe you are missing this psychology in your defensive stance.
Also since she is the minority (2 to 1) maybe she should consider dropping? Or maybe you should drop forum? I'll drop this if she starts to overshadow the other 2 couples combined. For now, to me it feels like author tries too hard to justify her, nothing more. And they fail because all those chapters and we still know only "loves eating".

It's way way way waaay more than 5. If you were to look at previous chapters you'll find more users (different ones ofc) that either dropped the manga or skip entirely (even skip commenting as they mentioned) when the focus of the chapter is Chii. I'm pretty sure that those that like Chii are actually the minority.

The hate she gets is not because she might be aromantic, but because she's a horrible person and treats her own friends like a scumbag would, such as blatant manipulation, sexual harassment and such. Right now she has been leading the guy that is clearly into her (and she knows) with no clear goal and has been using him (like she did to her friends) to boost her youtube account while giving very little fucks about others.

The author made a really unlikeable character thus my question is; are the japanese audience ok with this? Do they hate her too?

Do not put that slander on me; I don't post how much I dislike her, yet I find that she adds nothing of value to the story. We have 2 mainline couples, 2.5 if you think there's chemistry with our potential lesbian dorkasses. This isn't Tsuredure Children, we don't need to add couples, we have 2 already and their stories are being ignored for whatever flails wildly THIS is.

What annoys me is that to my surprise this mangá "became good".
The two main couples are interestng as both standalone characters and as a couple.
Chii and Tokio? They have nothing interesting to add to the story, they are "filler".
How the hell can this author dedicate to many chapter to so little?
