Jokes aside, I really wish people in these comments would chill the fuck out a little. It's like if the MC isn't turbo-competent, they are immediately badly written. It's like they don't get that flaws are pretty much vital. These don't have to last forever, and a character that keeps blindly bashing against them is boring too, but imperfections being polished is what makes for an interesting story.
MC here is totally a sexual deviant weirdo (lol), but besides that she just sounds like a normal person trying to balance kindness and privacy, and failing because that's what people often do. I dunno, this manga is surprisingly simple in that regard. The amount of salt flying around beffudles me.

I’m just tired of these lazily written and poorly supported stories, is it really that much to ask for authors to put thought into their stories LMAO. Apparently its not as retarded in the LN so i guess its just a product of whoever the artist was. Either way...disappointing and 1 bombed

Feel like some reader was expecting something else from this manga, whatever it was. And the moment they realized this is going in another direction they decided it was "badly written".
Ren was simply not intended to be a strategist and manipulative mastermind. She is someone that get easily distracted, and is prone to miscalculations or to take excessive risks. I don't see anything fatally wrong with that. We can have a protagonist unable to manipulate the world to her will, that sometime realize she did something very stupid.
