Shit... I thought the tragedy tag only for the 1st and 2nd life and at the 3rd life he will have a good one with only his mom even without the father, bit to think the author so masochist about this genre.
Damn, I'm out. Can't stand this kind story, this is just gonna make me o depressed.
I was really hoping that nothing would happen to his mother and that the MC was just anxious from all the bad things that's happened so far.....BUT I saw a comment saying to look closely at the cover art.......she's a Damn ghost that's been cut up.... T-T I believe in you MC you can pull thru this right!?
@Cyzeed Its still in the introduction phase. After this it slowly starts to change and Vandalieu is the one shitting on the world instead of the other way around. Though I have no idea if the manga will go on long enough for the juicy vengeance parts. Rodcorte raging way down the road as he realizes the full extent of his stupid decisions made in the first 2 chapters is extremely satisfying to read.
@aFFi @Cyzeed
If this can rassure you, here's a small spoiler.
The mother is about to be tortured and killed on a pyre.
And since Van is just a baby, he can't do anything.
So he will become slightly insane and use his magic to turn her into a spirit so that she can accompany him.
This is also the last bit of tragedy in the WN. After that, Van will train while trying to survive and, after he finally finds his new home, the story will become funny.
And Van trains to the point of becoming OP.
Will she ever reborn by using his magic? Even if he will turn her into a spirit did she still retain her personality?
even arifureta didnt go this far. Clearly the author a huge M. @ForcedFun doubt it, not many WN/LN adaptation get its story to go so far for it to reach half of the story when its adapted to manga. At least I haven't seen any. Usually its only up to 2-4 volumes.
In the latest translated chapters, Van is exploring a dungeon that, according to some friendly gods (the ones who hate Doltcorte and who are on Van's side), contains a way to revive his mom.
As a spirit, she retains the same personality, but has small memory loss (which is not really a problem. She just forgot some unimportant stuffs.) Well, Van is still worried, but that's because he loves his mum (she is literally the only mother he ever had in his three lives)
he'll preserve her spirit when he finds her dead body(chapter 4?). He'll search for a way to get a new body. In the WN raws he'll finally achieve getting her a new body but WN translations aren't up to this point yet and it'll take a VERY long time for the manga to reach this point. To put it into perspective, chapter1/2 only cover the WN prologue and chapter 3 is the entirety of WN chapter 1
@Gianoria Well I'm glad the author disnt take it too far
like completely kill her off and make van suffer thorough in entire life.
I really can't stand this kind of stuff especially when its the protag one and only family in his entire 3 lives. I think the author beside a M he is also a S. If internet can transfer my punch. @bobios2 Yeah, we all know the WN that adapted to manga will have slow update and its almost impossible to see the ending in manga version anytime soon. Even arifureta manga adaptation still at the beginning arc. @Yomiel-Metathronos I know that feeling.
@Cyzeed By the way, in case you're worried about that, this won't become a revenge porn.
Van understands that the other Reincarnators coulldn't have known the Undead was him. That, plus since undeads in Origin tend to be mindless and the bad first impression that he made (he had just slaughtered a bunch of people), it's normal that they murdered him.
So he forgave them. He will still kill them if they try to urt him or someone he is closed to, but he will also help them if they become his allies.
As for those who killed his mom, he can't forgive them. The last time he tried, he power leveled his [Bad Status Resistance] and [Limi Break] skills, while also getting several ulcers and puking blood. So yeah, forgiving them would actually kill him.
But he has other goals in life than murdering them all, and he will only do it if there's a possibility to kill them without putting himself, or others, in mortal danger.
He actually ignored one of his target several times because the conditions were not good.
Yeah, this is officially too much for me. I was willing to give it one more chapter, but all this suffering appeals to me in no way whatsoever. And yeah, I read all the spoiler comments about how
she's not totally gone and how he doesn't spend his whole life on revenge
and so on and so forth... Nope, I don't care. I really regret ever giving this one a shot in the first place.
For people who think this is too hard on the feels, yeah, it's bad for the first few chapters. But at least in the novel, after the despair makes Van go funny in the head, it somehow turns into a surprisingly fluffy and often hilarious nation-building story featuring an insane vampire child/4 year-old necromancer
with a muscle fetish
. IMO, it doesn't end up as grimdark and revenge-y as it looks right now at all. The revenge is kind of a side show to things like Van
developing the perfect ramen broth
,
constantly having to point out to his harem that he is too young to have a harem
, and
admiring his harem's abs (muscles are justice no matter your age)
. I recommend keeping with it if you can, it's great!
