That chair lift seems like such a safety hazard without any safety bars to hold people from accidentally slipping forward.

The chair lift is fine. It moves pretty slow. No way you fall out unless intentionally, but I assume they assume you'll be holding onto the side bars. Plus there is a net underneath if you do fall. My feet were almost scraping it when I went.

Hope they hit the onsen thats there next to the station. Great place to wash up, relax, and have a meal.
