every time I reread this manga, this chapter never fails to make me smile. despite how different their personalities are, they get along so well. their flaws and strengths complement one another in such a way that doesn't intuitively make sense, but the mangaka's balanced pacing and development makes it work beautifully.
chihiro's letter is so thoughtful and uplifting. although I'd love a scene where yugami reads it, I'm okay with him not knowing. I think chihiro wouldn't want him to feel burdened by her feelings and potentially change their dynamic, anyway.
we don't ever really get to see yugami's inner thoughts about chihiro, but I like it that way. because seeing his actions is enough to show that he is considerate of her...sometimes. but when those rare instances occur, it makes those moments that much sweeter.
yugami turned out to be such a lovable asshole who, despite his proclamations, does have
some room in his heart for others (though the capacity changes depending on the day, I suppose). chihiro went from a timid people pleaser to a gentle but odd gal, true to herself, and adorably smug when need be (thanks to some brilliant jerk
). I love these two so much!
looking forward to the next reread sometime in the future 🫶
