Things like this make me wonder if that hair color is chosen because it's supposed to represent how exotic the character is, or if it's a reference to how hair colour used to indicate personality traits.

Had to look it up since it was like 15 years ago when I last saw a list. There was the common industry tropes that overlapped with some personality colour theory at the time.

• Silver was supernatural or exotic.
• Blonde was for foreigners, non-pure blood, or rebellious people.
• Green was calm, soft, or envious.
• Blue was level-headed/cool personality, or intelligence.
• Black was the most standard.
• Brown was more casual or approachable.
• Red was lively, passionate, or angry.
• Orange was something like bold, incorrigible, or courageous.
• White was old or wise beyond years.

But honestly, I don't think a lot of manga and anime use this anymore. It's probably been like 10 years since it was common.
