The source WN is still ongoing, at 737 chapters.

The 1 year
still isn't even up yet in the story; Chp 569 mentions that only 6 months have passed.

Also 7 LNs out so far.

I gotta say, the premise for this one is reeeeally stupid. I mean, if you're going for a twist where there is no demon king, great. But if you combine it with the whole "slice of life" thing they're setting up, there's no conflict. Why should I be invested in this guy when the world is literally peaceful? There's no real incentive for improving himself, and even him meeting the heroine was just bumping into her more than anything else.

I hope it has some sort of twist that can make this interesting. That said, given the track record for these sorts of WNs, I doubt it.

This felt really hard to follow. At one point I thought time had stopped.

What the fuck. Summoning heroes and ripping them out of their life just for shits and giggles. Somehow that's even worse than having them fight against a demon king as in that situation they are forced to take this measure.

if the original hero was a woman and the only reason they are summoning a hero now is for that person to play the hero in a festival then why would you summon a guy? shouldn't one of the 2 girls that came along play the hero instead?

Actually I read some of this before, there are some changes and omissions.

I believe it was said the hero saved the world further than a hundred years, if I recall it was somewhat longer. Secondly time moves differently in this world and they would be able to return them to their world shortly after they were summoned. Also in the novel they determined Mitsunaga was the hero through testing.

So... no one between all three of these races realizes it’s kinda fucked up to tear someone out of their world into a foreign environment without their consent for a year? And not only that, they do it every single decade? Just so they can act in a play?

I know it’s not meant to be that deep, but that’s pretty fucked up.

So… every 10 years, this society performs ritual kidnapping, dresses up their victim as a hero, parades him around, and then send him back home?
Yeah, don't see anything wrong with that.

@TUSF Just like in the old fairy tales, where fairies and the like lead children to far places where they may not return or return only after a long period too late

If I could learn magic, how to use a sword, ect, I would leave this world a cold corpse.
Not a chance in hell would I want to go back.

Lol, yeah, I, enjoy them, but now I really keep how often/much I read of them somewhat... In check.
When I wasn't doing that, and I ended up reading a lot in a shorter period, and that can really starts to wake up the s side in me lol; a side I generally try to keep at least a bit in check.
Especially some of the particularly.. brutal ones where some characters could really do with a good breaking... Or worse.
