I suspect it's a retcon. I think what the author is thinking is that Wakarase moved in after meeting Sensei to more easily stalk him, since she's really rich.

Considering there have been cases where IRL teachers have raped(not sure if it was fully in the sense of the word or statutory) their underage male students, gotten pregnant and then the STUDENT was made to pay child support... Yea no I have zero expectation of leniency for men or boys regardless of who is actually responsible. It only takes an unvalidated claim to trash a guy's life in the days of me-too.
