he believes that what the people are saying is right and that the party is strong enough to not need him
doing a bunch of work doesn't justify for him the reward that he obtains so he just feels like soon enough they all obtain through their strength will be greater than his respective contributions to the party which will lead to him getting kicked out

also if he thinks that the other support mages are on the same level as him you have to consider him having a sort of survivor's guilt as he is the one lucky enough to not be kicked out, add to that as well the fact that he believes himself to be in a harem party in which he is the extra guy and its reasonable enough for him to want to be kicked out

not enough reasons to justify leaving but enough reasons for it to be a relief if he was to be kicked (he will probably try to leave later on anyways)

Basically it's your typical MC with an abysmal self confidence issue

I feel like I saw the one-shot version of this too. The MC explicitly asks to be fired and the party leader (also a girl posing as a guy, (but much less obvious and very snu-snu)) refuses to let him go.

I started suspecting Rein when "he" was in MC's bed.

The sort of party leader who kicks out the MC so that he could have a harem party would not be sneaking into another guy's bed.

As a player who played MMORPGs as a support (tank), I totally see where this trope is coming from. People who think like this aren't in the "strongest guilds" or "legendary parties", though.
