My intention was something to the extent of “I'm not going to insist on the name being changed”; basically, I wanted to communicate my intention to fully respect your translating choices. Basically, I was trying to dismiss myself, not you.

Doing homework at the library is forbidden? Why? I could understand teamwork, as it might get noisy with all the talk, but if a kid is just silently reading and writing, why not? Has the library run out of space in the past? With Japan's low birth rate, surely that's not a problem anymore.
I think it was explained in an earlier chapter, but the general reading desks are restricted to use for library books because of problems with students taking up all of the desks during exam periods. There are specific study rooms available for them to do homework in.
