@MoonStoneX maybe it has to do with their feelings of their past lives? Ignoring Ryuu and Uta since we don't really know Uta's side of it yet, the people that remember their past lives have shown to have a really strong desire to reunite. Yahiro did spend a lifetime doing good deeds to reincarnate and reunite with Hina. Obviously Suzu would care more to reunite with Hikari since she wanted to keep him company but probably died of old age before he did. I'm guessing Maria and Jou both remembered because of the heartbreak they had when they were forced to separate and wished to be reunited.

Okay I Got a theory. Why Yahiro became younger than Hina was because before he died in his past life his mental age was that of a elementary schooler which is wierd for him to have but I feel like it is. that would also explain why the rest got reincarnated around the same age because thats where their mental age was before their death...Although suzu is an exception...
