Welp, this is defo playing into sensei' hands atm, it's kinda obvious he's pushing fai to grow strong enough to kill him yet again

Just ones opinion, but this inconsequential fight is dragging for too long! There are no stakes here, one dude just wants to fight him to the death and he's like, "ok i guess". Last two chapters could've brought some meaning to it if his past self reflections lead to anything, like he could learn something about himself... It feels like this is supposed to be the final boss of the manga before they trail off and axe the series or something. Theres no substance to their fight...

While the result of the fight itself isn't very consequential, MC being able to move forward and use his teacher's sword is a step forward, him being more committed to being himself rather than a raw killing machine. It's character development. Even beyond that, it's the 'strongest hero', so the fight has to be fantastical. While this is definitely still power fantasy, MC has been holding back the whole time for a reason, and one that they keep mentioning. Working through that is basically half the story.

Also, big fight scenes are cool.

Then the author/mangaka failed to impart that in the chosen scenes. We got a lot of flashbacks with inconsequential dialog and combat chatter that felt rather hollow. It might have felt more cohesive when not broken up into 16 page chunks that are uploaded weeks or months apart, but it lacks impact in its current form.

Even going back and rereading all the chapters of the fight scene up till now, it feels disjointed and incomplete.

Hmmm...i feel like the mangaka could draw Ice Burial guy in more menacing manner.
Idk, i don't have problem with other characters but somehow, especially in this chapter, he's not visually menacing at all. Or when he got a close up, he looks like some mob that pick a fight with OP MC on early chapter.
