I appreciate that they acknowledged how the change in paradigm wasn't always bad, and that it led to stuff like old diseases finding their cures as knowledge bodies grew.

In these to-the-future reincarnations they usually just did away with "magic had withered away so the humanity of the future is inferior". Only very few acknowledged that it's just a cultural shift and progress happens regardless.

I mean from the sounds of it, he kinda saved humanity by doing it considering it had already ravaged a kingdom to the point where even their entire royal family had died. By real world medieval standards, if you could eliminate the black plague before it got to more than 1 country you would have saved ALOT of people.

By real world medieval standards, if you could eliminate the black plague before it got to more than 1 country you would have saved ALOT of people.

I’m sure that razing a bunch of villages to the ground so thoroughly that not a single trace of it is left is feasibly possible. Using your own example of the black plague, rats being a super spreader of this disease is basically the entire reason it exploded. You could probably have nuked the whole planet and have the virus escape in at least some carriers.
