#5 Redra: You've seen her, you love her. Just a wholesome dumb dragon.
#4 Mai: She's a good girl and having a somewhat normal person around can only be good for Kuro's upbringing, so I entirely support their engagement (even if her family gets weird ideas about it).
#3 Aidy: Don't mind her violent double entendres, that's just her way of expressing how much she likes her best frenemy.
#2 Meat: She attacc. She protecc. And most importantly, she deserves to be pet.
#1 Rokuko: She has amazing chemistry with Keima and noticeably grows up as the story progresses. And, extremely astonishing for a non-main romantic story, she's an incredibly proactive love interest. What more could you want from a FL?
* Celia: Other than being in Haku's pocket she's pretty alright.
* Misha: Just underappreciated and overabused.
* Rei: She tries her best but she has a thing for smelling Keima's clothes, which is just weird.
* Roppe: She's simply a pal.
* Igni: She barely shows up in the WN but from what I've heard of the LN I hope things work out for her because it'd be a much healthier relationship than what's already going on.
* Ereka: She has (they have?) a thing for smelling Rei's clothes, which is just weird.
* Soto: She's a weird girl who's only shown up recently, but I like Kuro having an actual sister and the only person harmed by her dietary habits is her mum, which I also consider a net good.
Worst girls (All spoilers)
#5 Leona: She's just terrible.
#4 Kiwami: You know competition is stiff if a murdertorturerapist is only #4.
#3 Leona: It bears repeating how horrible she is.
#2 Toy: The anti-Meat. She does not protecc. She deserves no headpats. All she deserves is a swift kick to the face.
#1 Leona: She's just the worst.
Dishonourable mentions (w/o spoilers: Haku)
* Haku: Was going to make the list, what with being pretty exploitative (not only towards Rokuko, either), but she got kicked off by some much worse candidates.
* Kinue: Selling out your first and only friend is big monkaS yandere energy.
* Nerune: The type of person to casually cut you up, though she'd ask you first. Her relationship with Wataru only has a semblance of working out because he's a masochist.
* Alca: Don't let her goofiness fool you, she's still a xenophobic zealot.
* Neru/Kosaki: Ravioli, ravioli, DON'T LEWD THE FREAKING PUPPY LOLI.
Other girls of note
* Sally: Too honest for her own good. Imagine simping for a known serial marriage fraudster.
* Ichika: Kind of underrepresented in the WN. The LN gives her more prominence, but again, haven't read that.
* Setsuna: Do you like big tiddy futa bunnygirl gfs? I don't, so I don't care about her.
* Michiru: Too pitifully ineffectual to be hated.
* Vol. 7 cover girl: Doesn't belong on any of these lists because of a technicality.
Much like how everybody calls him "Kehma" because they don't know the underlying meaning of his name and just pronounce the syllables, Keima refers to Meat as simply "Niku"(二ク), without the connotations of her name being an actual word. Should I interpret it as such to preserve the difference?
is it just me or that crown/headband thing on heros serve no purpose and especially for me it looks hella ugly and kinda cringe too, like wtf do u wear it. On the second note i really like the MC of "A Breakthrough Brought by Forbidden Master and Disciple" and its latest chapter(ch10), its basicly the anti-generic fantasy story(its not really isekai).
@Smilly It pretty much originates from the old Dragon Warrior games. I think it's supposed to be something to fill the helmet equipment slot, but without covering up the hero's marketable face.
Everything after that uses the crown a visual shorthand for "hero character" without having to explicitly spell it out, which is a good character design principle except here they spell it out anyway.
You forgot to mention the fact that she thinks the MC uses her as a sex slave against her will.
She is greatly misinformed, but she does have good intentions outside of her own desires.
She is pretty much never mentioned outside of a few side chapters in the novel thought.
Keima continues to be a man of culture and cleverness. Though we haven't seen them, I like to think every ceiling light looks like the core and there are dozens of them.
As for the female cast; Redra, Meat and Rokuko are welcome in my house anytime. I cant think of any I dislike offhand though I cant recall this Leona who is getting hate. Even Haku is a fun character. I would be careful around her but she keeps her word.
@wymar the meat vs niku debate is the wn vs ln terms tl debate and we went with closer to the wn names even thou the manga is based on the ln.
Later on it is shown that(wn ch99)(ln vol3 day 156)(so in like 2 manga chapters) Kehma reasoned meat(niku) > meat shield not meat(niku) > sex slave(slang)
Kehma slightly cringes at magic casting be cause he can understand every language even the language used to cast magic.
so yes he knows that he is calling her meat he just hasn't put 2 and 2 together that its slang for sex slave.
@Needhydra Oh I know that, I just wanted to know if the difference was worth keeping. It represents a subtle but meaningful distinction between how he sees Meat and how everybody else sees her; i.e. while everybody refers to her as a slave, he refers to her as just a person.
