Ever since I started reading this manga I have been trying to resist the urge to make a reference to Lord of Mysteries.
The way these guys use threads to control people is like a Marrionettist.
Also found the aging thing similar to the rule that a Parasite has to steal something like a bit the host's lifespan in order to start and cancel their parasitising.
