In this world, magic is a rare talent, and anybody with it gets to learn in the academy. It's not the sort of academy that is full of stuck-up nobles.
Also, his reputation as trainer of the royal knights should help.

If she came from a country called Sven-something (a theological country where that shitty bishop come from. Sorry, kinda forgot its name), then yes, it was her. She specialized in shield and sword. She's under Beryl's tutelage for a year.

...and yes, all of Beryl's disciples are females. 😅

He had another disciple in another country. She's a church knight, the same knight order as Schuppe. She's also held a pretty high position, a second in command, IIRC. She specialized in sword and shield and her fighting style is more defensive.

Sadly, I forgot her name. She's actually pretty awesome tho.
