So basically since the original bodies were destroyed, vera wants them to possess humans, but ciel knows that it will just kill both. I can't see any way out of this apart from the ancient people dying

What even is this manga about?
Why is it that so many series with a promising premise just end up becoming generic high stakes battle shounen?
If you want to do that, do it from the start and don't trick us into it slowly...
Battle shounen isn't crabs, it isn't the ultimate life form things spontaneously evolve into.

A unique premise is all they have. They run out of story.

what bothers me with this one is there’s room for an ancient civil arc, but this calamity stuff just ruins everything. I expected cave king to move his people into this place, have dangers in traps, but ultimately learn the technology. MC should have been plotted to created a thriving civilization and later war with his former kingdom.

but ultimately they create these stories to run too long. And the ass pulls are like the Star Wars sequels. There’s no plan and they just bullshit their way through.

Fucking.
End.
This.
Bullshit.
PLEASE.

I just… I just want to enjoy a series about digging, crafting, and building a kingdom.

I don't why people have problems with actually explaining the stuff they're going to use,nor why people have a problem with actually making the baddies the hero has to fight actually not fold over like a piece of wet newpaper.

It also means that he will probably end the pure evil once n' for all,and maybe even harness to save more people, perhaps even those struck in the past.

It’s not the explanation I have a problem with. It’s the long drawn out nature that is put behind a shity body theft plot. It’s the same issue I’ve had sin the start of the arc and I’ve commented on multiple times. If they’d found the statue and gotten an info dump that’d be fine. If they’d reawakened the princess/queen/royal bitch and she exposed the plot while in a slime or mech body it’d be fine. The author instead chose to have the FMC get taken over, have the lady act like she’s evil and won’t turn the body back over, make her subordinate fight his in a dumb ass wager, and only NOW be like “please help me“ while the FMC’s soul could be lost at any second only for another fucking roadblock to be put in the way.
You can have the build up of the Big Bad and the devices that will be used to take it down, but its the way it’s done that is the problem.
Also, why is it wrong to want to enjoy a story about building a kingdom that has the premise of doing exactly that? I’ve seen several other series that are able to do that without making people want just have certain sections get done with.

I mean,it's obvious why she played the villain, she couldn't trust them until they had proven themselves to be people she could trust, along with who actually have the power to achieve the goal of setting their souls free.

If they were just power hungry cray crays, she would've simply enacted whatever plan she would have to ensure the truth didn't get to them nor the outside world.

If they didn't have what it took, they'd be dead.

And you really can't have a long running series that relies purely on a premise,it either ends short(sometimes on purpose to promote the source material)or becomes a really long, dragged out series where all these neat characters barely get progression(some are even incredibly long winded explanations of otherwise simple mundane aspects)since there was no drama,no mystery, nor was there a overtly cutesy aspects to pass off as a pure silly slice of life.

Hell, some folks in this very series were complaining about how rushed the whole lore dump was.

So yeah, too fast or too slow, the result is this is good enough pacing if one remembers what happened prior.

You missed my point.
I understand that she couldn’t trust them right out the gate. I understand that the lore dump needs to be paced out. Neither of those are my problem with the story.

I have a problem with it being being framed by the body snatching trope. I wouldn’t be complaining if the author wasn’t dragging out the body snatching. Reread my previous comment. It’s all hinged upon the body snatching. Everything else could be the same and I wouldn’t care AT ALL. I’m glad when explanations are thorough. I like when we get to see the set-up for how the big bad will be resolved. Just don’t do the body snatching bullshit.

Why do you hate the body-snatching plot so much though? It fits into the continuity of this arc very well IMO, and without it MC would probably drag out his decision trying to save Sierra and her people, grinding the story to a halt. Of all the complaints you could have, why that specifically?

It might fit but it isn’t done well. I’ve seen too many body snatching plots that aren’t done well and could have been easily replaced with other literary devices. I’ve also seen ones where it comes completely out of left field and destroys everything that was good about the story in the first place. Iv had this trope ruin multiple series for me and I am beyond sick & tired of it.

Wow the Plot turned Out to bei complete Trash.Might as well drop it Here.
Like he finally found the answer and instead of saving the s of thousands MC would rather kill them all to save one girl.fucking disgusting. And even more so considering that the author sees nothing wrong with that. Its the Same as plugging the life Support of thousands of people who all wait for a Fitting Organ transplant
