I am not entirely sure, but based on the LN Vol.3 ToC & Summary, this is either the last arc or the arc before the last arc of this series (Summary of LN Vol.3 released in 2022, clearly mentioned that it's the final volume).
Not sure if the series would continue as Manga original after that or not.

For the LN, that seems to be the case. However, for the Web Novel there is still a lot to go through, at least from a quick glance at the chapters.
This manga chapter is matching with the last chapter of WN part 4 and first chapters of part 5 (WN has 19 parts + epilogue).

I just realized that this manga has a unique release schedule compared to other manga that I generally know.

This manga consists of an average of 4 chapters per volume, meaning volume 10 will probably contain chapters 37-40.
but the latest chapter that has been released is chapter 39, released 12 hours ago.
While volume 10 is already listed on amazon for a May 1st release.

Which means, it seems like this manga was created from the beginning in volume form,
which was then split up to be released per chapter each month.

looks like the girl in the carriage will be the big adversary of this arc, thats how it looks to me at least.
yeah with how the cover art looks like.

...edit... the below is in a spoiler because I was banned by guessing at future events for a year or so without using spoilers. IT's a guess. Not based on anything. Just saying something I would hate. I don't have to define a guess, do I?

Though I would hate it if her only reason to do this was to gain recognition because as a female painter she was failing. That would be too lame.

For the wn readers, will there be any sorts of "romance" surrounding the mc in the future?

Am I missing something here? I thought that girl in the carriage is Cloa in a disguise.

She's known for spying and subterfuge, right? So I was thinking she's doing something about the noble(s) supporting the impostors. But since her previous (before getting involved with our MC) identity is already shot and can't be used, she will be using a different one. While she told our MC that she's already supposed to be retiring anyways, she has a huge motivation now and still has the skills to maybe do a last job or two.

The girl in the carriage is the girl on page 3. I think she is a frustrated painter who is jealous on mc’s popularity so she use his name to be hired by a noble.

Thanks!

I was thinking that that girl is Cloa implementing her plan (on top of the plan that she told Tougo). In that scene from pg3, no one got introduced as Tougo (hence, the noble saying “I'd love to meet him in person, even just once”), and so:
  • the girl could be painting under Tougo's name, but acting as some intermediary (as she can't impersonate Tougo for some reason)
  • the girl is Cloa in disguise (gathering some intel on the nobles' reaction to Tougo's paintings)
  • the girl is someone else entirely.

EDIT:

Upon a more careful rereading, I no longer think that girl is Cloa, in a disguise or not:

  • the close-up of the girl's expression in pg3 shows her frustration at Tougo getting praised (when she's likely just also delivered her paintings to the nobles)
  • the scene at pg39 shows Cloa in her "secretary form" alongside Laocules and Fei. This scene continues on to the last page where this same girl is shown looking at Tougo from a carriage.

Hence, unless there's some body-double shenanigans going on, the girl can't be Cloa.
