She not only is a minor but she just now realized that she does actually want to experience her youth (which he already did and is WAY past) and that she missed the lifestyle of casually going to school and meeting a lot of new people (which in her own words used to be entering the homes of strangers or having some casual daytime boyfriends)

Ngl, her going full high schooler mode must be an insane turn off to him and it was handled the most plausible and in-character way possible: he lit up and was happy for her as a guardian while shoving everything else aside.

I for one think this was exceptionally well done and the author can go any way possible from here without it being uncomfortable and weird.
You actually chose to get mad at one of the incredibly rare instances (like 1 in 20) of a good "beta cuck" MC.
