Well well well. Somebody is pulling ahead of the pack ever so slightly. The ship is getting ready to set sail. But my guys nuts still got a bit more to drop. Wait, until the OTHER girls find out. Carnage.

Umm, author? You alright? With Mika suggesting how Makoto's the only one who can level up without limit, why isn't he talking about Iziyuin or whatever mess of letters his name was?
I'd wonder if you forgot, but you are referring and flashing back to their fight in this very chapter. I mean, sure, the guy had issues, but this might be a chance to give him a new goal to focus on. As a former bullying victim he's just waiting for a cute girl to come to him and tell him "Please, I need you. It's something only you can do!"

Feel like this will lead to a big final boss down the road when mc needs to dump all his levels to save someone
Honestly, if that happens I would really love it. The direct cause being him, and having to overcome it would be huge. In the sense, he has to save someone, dumps levels to do it. Inadvertantly creating the biggest villain to face later would be so sick. Really love that idea.

now that is interesting, the less dungeon we have the more difficult it gets. Now we actually have and end goal.

That's an interesting explanation for why the monsters are so much stronger than they should be. It also adds a very big drawback to his skill.
It's like what we see in video games where the beginning dungeons are easy, practically the 'tutorials' to introduce you to the game mechanics and the world itself, before the later dungeons get progressively harder the closer you are to the end game.

In this case, the 'video game' in this series is 'open world', any place you come across and clear first would be your 'tutorial' dungeon, and the other available ones out there get harder the less there are left unconquered.

level consuming got a serious drawback which buffs up the monsters in the other dungeons.. did i get it right?
If it is the case. it would explain few things why that skill is more of the trope "Blessed with suck" because it sounds damn dangerous like hell.

Hopefully kyun can still absorb exp for when he's challenged by another dungeon boss

I like this development, with characters like MC, that start out as essentially one of the strongest people in the world, authors often don't really know how to actually progress the story, but it feels like the world here is actually getting expanded on, leading to the next arc, which is really nice. Because compared to "let's do a tournament" "oh shit, the monsters are getting stronger because the people have hit their growth limit" seems a lot more interesting to me.

You know what the funny thing is? This wouldn't have been found out or even happened without the tournament, cause one of the big reasons he used the skill was to shed levels for the fight with his other friend, who challenged him because of the tournament. At least if I'm recalling correctly, it's been a while.

I think he lost most of his levels fighting his old classmate, who was targeting people in dungeons, but I might be mistaken.
