for how she was falling (she took the fist and clearly had the pivot leg under her control), I bet she kicked him on the chin or the family jewels (or precise point in the abdomen), it seriously look more like she knew how to fall and take less damage from the actual jab, hopefully not 0, it would be boring if she curbstomp the champion
When I said “hit,” I meant a hit in her face, since a jab is typically aimed there. I’ve clarified that in my post. She must’ve blocked it with her elbow, but yeah.

Oh, the NPCs in the background of the room hadn't loaded in yet at the end of the last chapter. Artist needs to get an SSD.

I hope the author keeps the semi realistic approach and that Setsuna loses this one otherwise this would stretch the suspension of disbelief too much for my taste.

This is not only a grown ass man but also a professional fighter and a heavyweight at that, Setsuna should at best get a low blow in and get ragdolled.

Since the promising but still very young Ikushima was able to draw blood from her, not to mention that Shouji punk sent her flying....this full grown ADULT mma heavyweight champion should realistically dogwalk her.

I keep my hopes up because it seems like the opponents are gradually tougher while Akita-Setsuna & Ikushima (he's definitely getting a more prominent role at some point) are still growing.

Be real here, even Bruce Lee said he can't take a punch from Ali in their respective primes.

Physics doesn't care about about human beliefs or human mental problems. If the mass and acceleration is there, the force is gonna go right through. And as with all fighting memes, wrestlers and grapplers are tops in 1v1 as long they don't get knocked out. Frankly, even her fight with the last guy was stretching reality at best.
If the mangaka is serious about putting a "believable" exchange here, her elbow or forearm will catch a part of the jab to absorb the shock, but that's more likely to pop an elbow out and/or leave a nasty bruise.
If you guys need a real life example of 2 pro fighters punching it out in the same ring at unequal weights, look up Floyd Mayweather KO'ing Tenshin Natsukawa at Rizin 14 (2023).
A woman beats up huge dudes without having muscles why are you talking about mass or realism? This is a slop manga about a fucking little weirdo MC and a crazy fight bitch come on.

Yeah this entire comment section is so odd because we're not reading this for realism. If you were, you would have stopped after chapter 1. It's very strange.

I think they are either trolling or have brain damage.
I don't agree with the whole 'mass can't be beaten' thing, especially in fiction, but it would be much more meaningful for her character to take the loss here. That guy is a skilled professional fighter after all, so he's not just all muscle.
It'd display some nuances and maybe even growth.

I do hope the author does. it'd break my suspension of disbelief if she could beat someone twice her weight (especially as a woman). even mighty mouse isn't able to do so irl
Mighty Mouse has beaten guys twice his weight though…

Eh problem for me is her character would ne more interesting if she's beaten.

On top of that the reason for people going the realism approach is cause of stuff like the "calf kick" having actual detailed methods on how it's used.

Additionally its harder to suspend belief when an actual trained heavy weight fighterr loses rather than some delinquent or unseasoned criminal because atleast they can be argued to be less skilled than Rindou as she manages to weave past delinquents attacks and hit and run punch him and with criminal guy's fight it emphasizes how despite his strength over her he loses to her technique of judo (which btw she still takes damage from the guy's punch and he only loses that because he doesn't know how to break out of it)

However, Heavyweight Champ here is not only strong but skilled and with the realistic tone of the manga, even if she were a guy it's absolutely tonally whiplashing for a skilled MMA World Champ (someone who has to train from childhood) to lose to a highschool student when it's trying to be realistic.

There's one technique where you can absorb the blow if you direct your body away from the impact
Yeah, every professional knows this, and every profession does this, especially in boxing where there is a lot more punches to the head, but you notice that while fighting, and also it doesn't really work for straights, like this one, the punch would have to come from the side, and while the punch comes you try to move your head with a similar speed to the punch to soften the blow, but when it's from the front like this you can't really move like that, you can shift your back a little but punch should go all the way through so that just doesn't work if he didn't hold back like he said
