Honestly, I'm still not a fan of how the writer is forcing Hiromi to take all the blame when it's clear there was fault on both sides.
I can’t stress this enough—if Lili hadn’t acted like it was no big deal to be hanging around Hodoka, especially knowing it made Hiromi uncomfortable, then a lot of this drama wouldn’t have happened. She even spent the night at his house, and yeah, maybe her phone died, but she acted like there was no other way to get in touch with Hiromi or even her housemates.
Everything that happened after that, in my opinion, was just collateral damage. It all built up because she was so careless with how she acted around other guys. Don’t get me wrong—Hiromi’s not blameless either. I’ve said in multiple comments that he should’ve taken a step back and realized it was too early to be in another relationship after just getting out of one. But still, here we are, five or six chapters later, and Hiromi is still taking all the blame… and we haven’t gotten one chapter where Lili reflects or owns up to her part in all of this?
Come on now, that’s just wrong.
But what can you expect, man? This is a series written from a female’s perspective. It feels like the expectation is for the guy to take 100% accountability, while the woman says nothing at all. And let’s not forget—Lili let her friends paint Hiromi in a bad light, when she was the one who led the situation in that direction. I’m not saying she can’t have male friends, but when you're in a relationship, transparency is key. You have to be self-aware enough to say, “Hey, some of the stuff I do might make my partner uncomfortable. Let me reassure them that I’m not that kind of person.”
We didn’t get any of that from her. Instead, Hiromi keeps carrying the weight, and that’s the part of this chapter that really rubbed me the
wrong way.
Now, on to Mine.
Yeah, we know she was joking about maybe having a crush on Hiromi—but honestly? I can totally see her becoming a real love interest. The signs are there. The setup is solid.
She’s a proprietress at her family inn, and she’s running it successfully. Hiromi? He’s a cook—he can work from anywhere. He's technically looking for a wife, someone to start a family with. Mine just happens to be a great mom, she's got a good kid, and she can make Hiromi laugh, help him relax, and still handle her business. Whether people agree with me or not, she checks every box.
Like, I know this series definitely won't go in that direction, but if it did? Mine would be an incredible choice. That’s just my opinion.
