It was funny because Suzuki has been ill received in the comments for a long time.
I never did that myself. Well, I think I wrote "he likely wet his pants" somewhere but that was not to diss him. It's more like he was well aware of the danger around him and had no way to escape (because the guards were posing that threat)...
When it comes to Suzuki, he seems to be the only one who has some common sense left between his ears. Sou included, since that one's almost as delusional as the girls are. Either that or Sou has a selective perception that stops the girls' retarded reactions from being recognized as such.
If we think about this as a manzai act, then Suzuki is the tsukkomi dealing with a horde of boke.
He's a boy who continues to go to school when others either drop out or play hooky (like the Class C guy Kaede mentioned).
His tastes aside (I won't object there) he simply deserves respect.
Btw what's up with Miku? She is silent since Kana fell into her lap.
That's a good question. What I would write is a scene like this:
A smartphone alarm rings (playing a game song) which wakes Kana up from her dream world.
She then realizes Miku being "outta space" and Hinata close to losing it with the other three guards arguing with her or trying to stop her otherwise. Kana would rise from Miku's lap, tie her hair up (the way she did in her dream) and then stop Hinata and the others with her baton pulled - not violently but firm (remember, she has a loud voice for such a petite girl) which pulls Hinata back to reality and shuts the others up.
Drill Sergeant Kanaria... literally. Damn, now I wanna see that.
What if Kana doesn't come back soon? Ugh, it might actually take Miku to stop this mess from escalating further.
My statement from before stands. Mount St.Miku (or Mikuyama since we are in Japan) won't be silent for much longer and her power might be necessary to restrain the rest. That would also be valid reason for Suzuki to move to a safe distance. You don't want to get near a pissed off queen.
