While thriathletes do have the custom of swimming long distances, even much longer than the distance to the other island.

No reason to not go there by boat.

The series kind of shot itself in the foot by making the group bigger(and by extension, by teleporting the entire damn school and not just a select few people or at most one class) If you are making a harem, keep all the survivors to just one guy and some girls. If you're going to introduce more guys, then it shouldn't have been a harem in the first place.
