ONE MORE?
Man... Beryl was a prolific teacher.
This... was... intense... man, I love every minute of this chapter.
Did any of you ever notice one of the greatest failings of a story with an op MC? Sorry, kinda of a trap question, let me say at least were i want to go with this... in many (if not most) stories with op MCs, no matter how hyped up someone is, how much a especific group of people is said to be elite, the moment they go against the MC... they become utterly incompetent, and most of the time (if not always), there is no justificative for such batlant turn to incompetence.
Now, notice what happened in this chapter... Beryl was going to die if he fought that shadow, at the same time, a Fissel was going to die to if Beryl wasnt there to give her protection, but no matter what... if those mages didnt organise so qickly and efficiently and act with the clear level a group of battle mages from a country should have... the only option would have been to lock the place and let the shadow rampage until it tired... if even that.
What I am trying to say is that, despite Beryl being probably the best pure swordsman in this world (still pending on that, I think), he is not invincible, and his talent and capacity are not the solution for every problem.
Sure... it was because of that potential that the shadow swordsman appeared, it still says a lot about him, but the world around is moving WITH the MC, people with different abilities and talents are relevant to the ultimate result of each situation.
And this is one more thing I love about this story: the valorization of the world, not just the main character.
And despite the simple choreography in this chapter... I could feel the tension in each movement, they were against a adversary of such level that every action was made at its utmost limit, and it felt like that.
Fissel is so cute XD.
