It might have been obvious (I didn't notice it at first so I thought I'd mention it) but her mask is actually her dad's. He is shown wearing it in like one panel before she has it, and then after all he has is a generic wooden board. Very touching how much he cared for her. And yes agreed, I hope we get to see their reunion some day. I bet she will run across the whole village just to give him a hug.

yeah in that scenario it seems very hard to fit the text horizontally, I think most scanlators would just make the font smaller and wrap the text but that doesn't work well for phone viewing. For a page like that it is just a balance between legibility for computer vs phone users i guess .

yeah, the dad did mentioned that Cynthia didnt get her own personal mask by Per-Soh-Nya priest due to her condition as a citlapol. so he gave his mask to protect her 'true face'. i had thought cynthia inherited her mom's mask but the kadoe's funeral rites probably require the mask to be buried/send off with the deceased. still, it shown that the father is willing to give everything to ensure cynthia is safe even when he was initially shown to be very aggressive/abusive to cynthia (its the village and overall general society's perception that condemned the citlapol to be viewed as walking/omen of disaster).

moreover, the assault/riot is mostlikely due to Bellir's manipulation to force Cynthia's father to give her up.

So the same horizontal wrapping layout can be applied and be no less readable than a skinny dialogue bubble:

(assuming the problem is not about the effort of redrawing the page behind the areas that text is no longer covering, which if it is - totally fair. I just used an AI tool to do it but typically those either aren't free or are limited in usages per day).
