This chapter felt so disjointed, like way to much happened
and almost none of it was given a reason for why it was happening.
Moreover the action felt so half assed and the gore felt cheep and unearned.

Yeah when I was reading the offical manga, that's just how it is. They make the chapters by 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc. And since they upload them at very different times, I guess they don't flow into each other that much.
