I will say that now that I've had a chance to process, it could be Sunao mostly stressing over the suspicion that Lemon still has feelings for him, and not necessarily him actively rejecting any lingering feelings of his own.Nawh bail on that shit author. I understand the situation, but I still don't like it. Lemon did nothing to redeem herself and doesn't really deserve him. She can have her friend back, but kinda heart Natsumi gets the guy. Or a thruple.
Yeah to me it doesn't feel like he has any sort of lingering romantic attachments to Lemon. It's more like he would feel stuck in a really awkward position if Lemon is still in love with him considering he likes her friend. Then add in the body switching, it would just make it even more awkward. Just my own thoughts though. The story could go in a completely different direction.I will say that now that I've had a chance to process, it could be Sunao mostly stressing over the suspicion that Lemon still has feelings for him, and not necessarily him actively rejecting any lingering feelings of his own.
I'm not saying that's even likely, but I'll hold out hope that he's worked (or nearly worked) through his grief over his relationship with Lemon, especially now that they've been Swapping for months, and is finding closure on that in being able to become friends with her again.
I'll continue holding out hope for Natsumi.
"Throuple" still personally feels like a cop-out, but I also think it could work if it's well-written, and if Natsumi actually has feelings in that way for Lemon (since every time she had the Doki Doki up to now, it was when Sunao was in Lemon's body).
I'm all for poly relationship endings, it's just gotta feel correct to do so and not just out of pity for one person or another.
Agreed. A polygamous relationship in mange with such "real" characters rarely feels ok.I will say that now that I've had a chance to process, it could be Sunao mostly stressing over the suspicion that Lemon still has feelings for him, and not necessarily him actively rejecting any lingering feelings of his own.

Yep. Sunao's a considerate person who cares about his friends, so I wager we'll see him fully tackle Lemon having feelings for him in the near future, as I think it's one of the few pieces that has yet to be resolved.Yeah to me it doesn't feel like he has any sort of lingering romantic attachments to Lemon. The heck? Bullies are still bullies. No matter the situation, their point of view, or what they were thinking, what they did is what matters. And that is not a justification."In hindsight, they probably had their own stuff going on... Their own perspective on situation."
I do think that this confrontation needed to happen between Sunao and Lemon. You can start by elevating Kogahara beyond just a background character.
For Kogahara to win believably she needs her own dedicated POV arc, one where she is not just an accesory for Lemon and Sunao.I do think that this confrontation needed to happen between Sunao and Lemon.
Now that at least this first conversation has concluded, I suspect that Natsumi will start factoring into the story more and more going forward, especially as Sunao grapples with his suspicions that Lemon still has feelings for him and how that factors into him liking Natsumi--and as Lemon and Natsumi will need to work through their feelings for Sunao with one another.
I certainly have my hopes about the endgame, but I actually think we're still a ways from that, especially given the Swapping persists.
Plus, there's the whole "Lemon going to Germany" thing (I wonder if that's why Dad is here all of the sudden). I can't imagine that was just a throwaway that will just be dropped as a loose thread, and that has a lot of implications for the three of them, even if the Swapping's not a factor by that point.
You can't fight the childhood friends' fate.Don't do it, Author.
Don't push them together.
Natsumi.
NAAATSUUUMIIIIIIIII
oh yeah - and I fully expect we do get that. A lot has had to necessarily be addressed between Lemon and Sunao, specifically, in addition to the usual plot timeline of what's going on around them since the Swapping happened. For Kogahara to win believably she needs her own dedicated POV arc, one where she is not just an accesory for Lemon and Sunao.
An arc of Natsumi Kogahara, THE PERSON, not the trophy waifu.
As long as it's well-written, I ultimately won't complain. If at the end it makes the most sense for Lemon and Sunao to be together rather than Sunao and Natsumi, then that's the way it should go.You can't fight the childhood friends' fate.
