Maeda has been getting so much attention lately that I'm starting to forget that Ruri already had a "best friend" character in the story.

The way I understand it, it's an incorrect translation. In other languages she asks "Have you met other dragons?", instead of claiming to have met other dragons, and then Kashiro beating her up makes sense: "Not seeing her dad is a sensitive topic, don't bring it up!"

I had my cultural shock moment just on a next page with "I'm Airu, Airi's sister". That got me wondering "Who the f~ is Airi? Wasn't that girl who speaks Kashiro's sister? Is there some other girl who is dressed just like Kashiro's sister and who's invited to Kashiro's slumber party?"

That was before I remembered that Japanese students are calling each other by last names, Kashoro's name is, actually, Airi. Still, they met Airu two times before, and I assumed that Ruri was past basic introduction at this point, but apparently not.
