the editorial is the one splitting the chapters in this case, this tl is much higher quality though so its worth waiting for it

Not the author,they usually actually do proper splits if need be,and definitely odd if it is the editors,but it is very likely(if no exact confirmation has been found)the online publisher splitting the chapters in order to stretch their pennies.

Thank goodness scanlators who listen to reason ignore the outdated Mangadex rules and actually combine them as they should be.

I think it would be interesting if the captain was part anomaly. She is what she hates. But she will likely have some tragic tale of anomalies killing her family, probably a younger brother that the MC is replacing in her mind

There is a vague ruling that states to upload chapters how the raws do it,and that singlehanded led to the nonsense spreading on Mangadex to begin with.

The sub chapter releases can also cause misunderstandings with the plot, and it sometimes screw up the plot’s flow.

The sub chapter versions of Ishigami Senki Chapter 26 had this issue. The first half made me mistakenly believe a certain character was still alive; if they were it would’ve ruined another character’s development. I had to wait two weeks later to finally realize the author was actually trolling readers. If my group had released this sub chapter as is, EN readers would’ve been understandably pissed, and then justifiably drop the series.

As for the 2nd half, which begins on page 15, it took me a moment to realize that the character in question turned out to be someone else. In addition to the 2 week gap, connecting the series of events between the first and second half was equally jarring.

Volume versions of manga will always include complete chapters. I don’t see any problem with uploading them as full chapters. Plus, it’s way more convenient for readers.

I was thinking that at the start of the chap (just because it's another big anomaly), but at the end I'm kinda doubting it. I think its purpose will just be to make the captain warm up to Behemoth, after the sea anomaly eats Tojuro + captain has to team up with Behemoth to be able to save him.
