There's something very easy he could've done to achieved the goal of isolating Hanae from Mei, but he still didn't go for it. Kinda admirable for someone who was sprung up on this manga for the sole reason of introducing drama

Someone pointed out that this 'double' arc is important for hanae and mei relationship because they only like each other as girls, so this new character could nudge their relationship to the truth because he loves hanae as girl and guy, which mei still troubled to like the latter. I hope the resolves will be satisfying!!

I think that could be accomplished without such a tedious character introduced purely for drama. Even the author points how them looking identical is a cheap coincidence.

Plus why did we even need that? Hanae already started blending the two appearances when he got makeup done. That felt way more natural. We could have had an arc about Mei hanging out with cosplaying/crossplaying Hanae instead.

I feel like a better way to shoehorn in this new character is to make him an obsessive fan who met Hana from the cafe and his obsession is to the point he want to look like Hana and that is what pushed him to crossdress and his obsessiveness made him stalk Hana and finds out Hana was a crossdresser too and he decided to blackmail him into being his friend knowing his secret, that's way better than making their regular and crossdressing looks similar as just "coincidence", and even bigger miss of a chance it could even be the random guy who confessed to Hanae during the school festival arc finding out Hanae crossdress as Hana to work in the cafe

i feel like itd be odd if shuumei doesnt realize its not hanae that hes interacting with. because hes met hanae as mei and knows roughly what kind of person he is. also isnt mei still under the impression of hana being hanae's sister? so itd definitely make this fake hanae's motives incredibly questionable. addtionally, fake hanae has already said hes not related to hana. although shuumei is insanely dense so he probably wouldnt put that all together...

I came here because trying to put in the energy to read the raws with this creep there is painful.
I sped through it in English, I hate him so much.

This character has almost ruined this series, for me.

It was pretty high in my rankings until he showed up.

Doesn't help that I finally got out of an abusive relationship in March, and watching my abuser sliding right into a relationship where she would be the abused. I warned her.

I wonder if I hadn't tried to warn her whether she would have blown up my phone when they broke up, or not.
She hates being wrong more than anything, aside other people being right at the same time.
(demanding cat food/litter money for cats she insisted on keeping, and for me to cross the USA and throw away the garbage I had to leave when I was made homeless.)
