Nope... As Kosuke has set up things right now, he effectively acts like a tamer/summoner.Him having the fairies fight for him instead of the two girls isn’t really him fighting so the whole reason to be an adventurer for a bit seems like a farce like him fighting the horse was just him going pokemon on it and having nana fight
There is currently no basis for that assumption. We have never seen him fight for himself, nor has anybody in the series ever even mentioned his ability to do so. The series has not established that he is capable of defending himself in any way.A second aspect is that he is actually quite capable of fighting himself, without summons or pets.
You mean the ability to just let loose a bit and let a fraction of your innate power leak out so that everyone around you pisses themselves in fear and extasy, and anyone who doesn't with half a brain will GTFO promptly is not "being able to defend yourself"?There is currently no basis for that assumption. We have never seen him fight for himself, nor has anybody in the series ever even mentioned his ability to do so. The series has not established that he is capable of defending himself in any way.

Is this literally the first chapter where he actually fought something himself?
Cause he always had others fight for him. It's an improvement.
I also have to admit, I laughed at the small "Let me call you master" at the end. I didn't have much hope for this arc... but it's actually an improvement, except for the missing fanservice.
I don't disagree that it's fine for the MC to fight with fairies. Those his ultra duper high class summons and most people can't even see them. But it is also certainly disappointing to not see how "he" fights. He's like the world's only living God. What does that even mean really when it comes to physical confrontations? What happens when divinity throws hands? I don't think it should be wasted on this stock Japanese adventurer cliché, but I would love to see the MC specifically throw down. Even if that's just like, because he's a living God no one can actually harm him or whatever. So monster tamers, summoners, spirit magic user, etc should be banned from adventuring.
Him "fighting" would probably involve using divine power for attacking. That would give him away and also obliterate whoever he hitsTechnically, the fairies fought for him, so he still didn't fight himself. lol.
I was going to use the original, but found this too hahahaBefore the fight:

84 chapters in and the author still insists on never even once having the main character fight for himself. He always has other people do his dirty work. In this chapter, spirit girls.

And that class fights through the tames/summons. Which he properly does.
Not everybody fights like a meathead musclebrain shounen protag you know...

Lmao wait is this the first time he’s done any fighting at all??
I initially thought this was his first on-screen fight as well, but during my current re-read I was surprised to notice we were all wrong. In chapter 37 when they first start conquering the second tower, the party (Kousuke, Kouhi, Mitsuki, and Floria) gets ambushed in the first room and everyone is fighting. Kousuke uses a dagger to stab a rock slime, and uses his divine power to shoot an energy beam at a skeleton to protect Floria. And in Chapter 38 he shoots an energy beam and all your see is a smear left in the air of whatever he just blasted. I assume it was a fish but it isn't clear.Him "fighting" would probably involve using divine power for attacking. That would give him away and also obliterate whoever he hits
