Every time they try to show the training company's side of things, they just look worse and worse.

Seriously "Let them all die so I can own it all because my sister didn't want me and me only"

what a bitch
she needed a ton more chapters to properly show the full progression of her arc in a manner that didn't force it into ten minutes' worth of dialogue run time.

As-is, yeah. She deserves--maybe not outright execution, but possibly being fully stripped of her title and assets and exiled from the region, for effectively turning her back on the town during a crisis, in the same manner she fully accused Frost of during the Day of Ashes.

Just absolutely petty, petulant, child-like behavior, and unfortunately we didn't get the full scope if it in the timeline we needed to make it actually reasonable for any sort of turnaround and redemption.

I still fully despise Shion, though. Cannot stand her, because she's just a belligerent asshole to everyone except Violet and doesn't even have the excuse Frost does of single-handedly keeping the town safe or something. The fact she brandished her sword against Clarice that one time and even Violet, who ostensibly liked our protagonist well-enough at that point, said nothing about a guard pointing a blade at a noble.

She's somehow filling that "aggressive/jealous lesbian friend" role that you see in non-yuri romcoms, where the friend of the FL gets super pissy and shitty toward the ML for daring to like her friend.

thats toxic yuri for you.
and the resolution was kind of convoluted with the sister/first love.
the merchant violet would have even less of an obligation to support anyone after letting her former relationship go.
that was the only thing keeping her aggression in check before.
all the more reason to become more calculating and cold towards outsiders.

Except that if she sat back and did nothing, the town she's based in would be in ruins, people dead or fleeing, and she'd have devastation where she planned to "swoop in and take over".

I get what you're saying, but while logical, that doesn't make her a good person, especially one worthy of sympathy if she carried that thought process out to its expected conclusion - which is my initial point.
She needed much more time in the actual runtime of the manga to properly earn any sort of redemption, and the forced abrupt ending means that it'll have to be shoehorned in with the last chapter with an act of magnanimity on the part of Clarice, when she's done nothing to earn it up to this point (excepting the very belated self-imposed delay of aid in the 11th hour).

**I should say that this is my prediction for the last chapter in terms of Violet's conclusion; I don't know if it'll be the case, but I'm not sure I see this not having some kind of happy ending (barring Dahlia's failed love) for each character - Violet's not getting kicked out of the region by Frost, because Clarice is too nice to let that happen, I suspect, so Violet's biggest loss is likely simply to be Dahlia, and it should be much more.

Am I crazy, that one panel looks stolen directly from Berserk when Guts is fighting the crystal dragon knight.
Like one for one I’ll try and find the panel but do you know what I mean? It’s right before he fires a cannon shot into his mouth.

Axed ... Im gonna split my head open with an axe...

About the actual chapter now, I do think its a little dumb for her to say "its too late" and then kiss her

And then once big girl shion says something shes instantly just like "oh yes darling shion I'll stop being a bitch and not let people die anymore for my riches mwah"

...kinda blame that on it getting axed though, I imagine it would've been properly written had it not gotten the chop

:pout: probably because the cast are not questionably aged high schoolers. This is a manga not a manhwa unfortunately.
Even "questionably aged high school girl" yuri manga get axed every now and then. Yuri is already a pretty niche genre, you really need luck on your side to even have a small success.

Hope that one day, maybe we will get a yuri version of company that simulcast release manga internationally to show that there are quite a few people that are interested in these works.

The character of Violet It's irremediable. Not only has she been a terrible person throughout the entire manga her plan was to let everyone die and then take over a place that would be nothing but a ruin full of corpses, It's a shame she didn't get the ending she deserved after that and it will surely end up as a typical cliché that she is a heroine.

And it's a shame that the author used the penultimate chapter to focus on her and a very stupid, clichéd resolution.

Not to mention that far as we can tell, much if the cities terrible state is to blame on the trading company raising ridiculous prices. So she basically starved the city out over time and now in its most dire situation she is willing to to just sit by and let innocent people die for her revenge instead of using the wealth she had acquired from their suffering.
If she actually went through with this plan she i doubt she could find anyone who would be happy under her rule, if she could find any survivors at all.

The way and reason she changed her mind is also highly questionable, but as othrrs have pointed out, that shit is obviously very rushed so im willing to disregard it

This manga started going down hill with the introduction of the trading company. Cant try to make the person responsible for essentially starving a territory by raising prices and being ruthless, also be a sympathetic character, just doesnt work.
Either make her ruthlessly cold and cunning because of her trauama and maybe have her get forced to help, or maybe push her hard and show that she still has a glimmer of humanity as she reluctantly helps at the end.
This half and half approach was just weird, especially with her guard also just being unlikeable, series had potential but i can see why it got axed.

As much as I had enjoyed this series, knowing it got axed and Sou had to rush everything on these last two chapters really soured me on the whole thing.

Dahlia's confession comes out as really forced; the little character development Violet had shown before was thrown out of the window to have her make a childish tantrum. The trauma of her grandfather's dying was pushed away so we can have one fleeting moment of lesbian angst for no reason, making me wonder why cram that angle when everything so far was focused on building up her crush with Shion.

Ah, well, I guess I can have some leniency since this was Sou's first serialized manga, but still, I'm left with a very bittersweet taste in my mouth
