Diethelm's never confirmed to be gay, at one point he talks about looking for a wife. I think he’s just starved for affection, given his parents (his mother was seduced into poisoning him as part of a scheme for the throne). The only actual gay relationship in the books is the one already shown in the manga, Prince Alphonse with Sir Magdalos.

Changes from WN:

• Original context: Kento did the whole show with Camilla both because of advice Klaus gave him, and to recover his ego after doing a humiliating tampon run for Yuika.
• The first scene happens in Camilla’s office, away from the Knights. The Demon King’s Army didn’t have gigawolves or a giant cat yet, but did have 40 kobolds in “Alto Corps”, which are used as scouts and envoys.
• Kento’s lecturing of Camilla was cut down and simplified, the odd comment about the King is a leftover from cut dialogue. Kento exhaustively highlighted how cornered she was, emphasizing how useless and harmful her family were, exaggerating the threats to her and her nation, and even bluffing about American nukes.
• Kento only brought out lizardmen for Diethelm.
• The conversation about Diethelm in harem was more substantial, and saucy, with Kento once again fearing Yuika’s potential reaction, a detail frequently left out in the manga.
• Kento checked on the other Princes, 1st Prince was doing the usual gay, but the other two… This is where it was first established Bernst and Christoph were having drug addled orgies, an important plot point, but would have clashed with the tone here. Can still be introduced later.

It’s not really rewarding a perpetrator if that perpetrator quite literally has a gun to their head 24/7.

Think of it this way Kenta probably has a familiar on her always waiting for her to f up and the instant she dies kenta will pop out instantly and kill her! At least this is what the princess believes, that’s not a reward that’s a nightmare.

And here’s the next thing if he kills her he can bring her back as his real familiar which then she WILL be his slave.

About putting anyone in charge, that is wrong you can’t put anyone in charge simply because the people wouldn’t know or support them, if you force them then your a tyrant and they wouldn’t hate the one you put in charge.

With the princess and the prince the people already know and actually like them so a transition of power would be “easier” especially if the other princes and the king just “disappeared”.

Yeah... I can see where the author intentions and fetishes are. I would not complain if the drawn characters were adults and simply stop reading. But doing this with children... nah, this is disgusting.
And even the cover for the series shows that, don't even need to go that deep.
The plot was starting to become garbage with the "Kokubun cosplayer", that was so stupid that is funny.

Thanks for the reminder, have read these WN chapters long ago , I'm glad Yuika isn't that present in his inner monologue in the adaptation, it was quite jarring to see him do things way beyond anyone could think of only to be mentally hurdled by his classmate.

...great, so the MC after seeing how remorseless the princess was about killing all those children, and becoming the trigger that causes his mother to kill his father and then herself, chooses tp reward her even more than he already has, once by doing exactly what she wanted to do when she summoned them(aka protect her people while sacrificing zero of her own men), and two by saving her brother and assisting him to become king...


And we all know she won't ever be truly punished for all the deaths her orders and actions have caused and she won't ever feel regret (other than the regret of committing those acts against someone who ended up fighting back), because a Japanese protagonist, can only be a goody two shoes, and a blond big breasted woman can get away even with the most vile of acts.)

The point is that the next person would refuse to do it. Because they would know that the hostage (AND those not yet taken hostage) dies if they do, and that they are better off asking the royal to help save their family. ...Or to cut their losses.

I already explained why those punishments exists in the comemnt you replied to. The demands of the one who took a hostage is going to end up killing said hostage either way. So it makes no sense to do as they say. Not even ending your life in the process is going to protect the hostage.
